Staying Organized {Free Printable}

Staying Organized {Free Printable}

As a stay at home mom that home-schools and runs this blog and juggles a ton of other activities outside the home.  I have a long list of things that I have to do each week.  I am a visual person, I need to look at a calendar to see what needs to be done for the week.  With that said, I need a planner to help me to stay organized.  I use a Filofax A5 Original Organizer/ Planner to keep me in line.  But the inserts they provide with the organizer just weren’t working for me.   (more…)

Recipe: Boot Kicker Burger #Burgervetion

This is a sponsored posts and all opinions & thoughts are 100% my own.  I only write posts that I believe in and are not influenced my the dollar amount they offer for me to write a post.  Plain and simple, if I don’t love the product…I don’t waste your time or my own.

Recipe:  Boot Kicker Burger #Burgervetion

To create the Best Ever Juicy Burger this summer, mix Hellmann’s {Best Foods} Mayonnaise directly into the ground beef when preparing your burgers. The mayonnaise helps to lock in moisture as the burger cooks on the grill, ensuring a juicy, delicious burger every time.  I had never heard of this and was willing to test it out.  I was shocked by how moist the burgers turned out.  They may have been the best I have ever had.  And I have eaten a whole lot of burgers in my life.  The simple addition of mayonnaise to the ground beef makes a deliciously juicy burger every time!

Here is my recipe for the Boot Kicker Burger.  I hope you try it out and love it as much as my family and friends do.

For the hamburger patties, I am a bit of a purest at heart.  Just the basics.

3 pounds of ground beef

1 cup of Best Foods mayonnaise

2 tablespoons of granulated garlic

Salt and pepper

Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl.

Once all of the ingredients are mixed up well, form the hamburger patties.  The best part of this recipe is that the burgers will taste great if you grill them or cook them in a pan on your oven.  {If only steaks were that way!}

After the burgers are cooked add your toppings.  I like to add the cheese a few minutes before I pull the burgers off of the heat.  That way, the cheese is melted and gooey.  Now it is time to dress up the burgers.

Instead of pickles, we like to add jalapenos fried in seasoned corn meal.  I also made a spicy mayo to top my bun with.  I add chili paste and Best Foods Mayonnaise together, equal parts and mix them well until the color is consistent.

Build your burger, Serve and Enjoy!

Make Your Own Infused Sugars

Make Your Own Infused Sugars~

Making your own infused sugars is easy and a delicious way to add exciting new flavors to your baked goods or drinks.  I got all of the ingredients for this recipe from World Market except for the Lavender, which my awesome friend, Ash sent it to me from her garden.  I asked that she share some of her Lavender because I knew that she had an amazing organic garden.  It was the best smelling mail that I have ever received.   (more…)

DIY Hanging Lamp Shade

DIY Hanging Lamp Shade

I love all things Pottery Barn, but can’t afford their prices nor justify the expense right now.  Especially since, I am renting my condo here in Denver.  But I hated, hated, hated the hanging lamp in my hallway/ entry way.  I wanted to look at something pretty especially since it is pretty much a focal point in our condo.  I had to do something, but wasn’t quite sure what to do about it.

Outlaw Caramel Sauce Recipe

Outlaw Caramel Sauce Recipe

If you have been following this blog for a while now, you will that I have an insatiable sweet tooth.  In fact, if I didn’t have kids I would probably eat dessert first at every meal.  But sadly, I don’t think would teach the kids to eat their vegetables any quicker.  As a parent that tries to keep up with two toddlers on a daily basis, around nap time I crave a sugar pick me up of some sorts.  And my budget doesn’t allow me to run to Starbucks to get a yummy Venti Caramel Frappacino on a daily basis.  So I make a big batch of this Outlaw Caramel Sauce recipe to use for my own faux Starbucks drink. Chiptole Cheese Grits with Shrimp & Andouille Sausage Recipe

Being a Southern girl from Louisiana, I grew up eating grits and seafood fresh of the dock.  But as I grew up, my taste for grits grew for new variations.  My all time favorite grits recipe is so spicy and savory with a hint of heat but not too much.  Nothing reminds me of home like combining my two loves of grits and shrimp into a dish.  I hope you will enjoy my Chiptole Cheese Grits with Shrimp & Andouille Sausage Recipe.
